Our whole school project is focussed on the life of Floella Benjamin. Floella is an award-winning children’s author, as well as an actress, singer, presenter, politician and children’s TV host. Her parents moved from Trinidad to Great Britain as part of the Windrush Generation, and her books centre on the hardship she experienced moving to the UK from her home country in 1960. The children will be using a range of texts suited to their year group to support their writing outcomes. We look forward to sharing our outcomes and displays with you at parents evening.
